The photographs below were taken in April 2011, and show the beautiful surroundings where you can explore the lake and woodlands areas, have a picnic, join the well-established Festival Park Angling club and fish the lakes.

Garden Festival Wales was built at Ebbw Vale as the last British Garden Festival site  because of the waste land which had been created by the demolishment of the steelmaking part of the Ebbw Vale Steelworks in the early 1980s.

The Festival started on 1st May 1992 and ended on 4th October 1992. As well as gardens, plant exhibitions and fairground-style attractions the festival also featured a funicular railway.
